Certified International Ambient Scribe (CIAS)

The flagship GELYPTIC MD Academy certification. Five modules take you from medical language to dual-standard (U.S. CMS/HIPAA and European GDPR/EHDS) documentation, ambient AI quality assurance, EHR export and a timed capstone practicum. Graduates earn the CIAS credential plus three milestone badges, each with a public verification link they can add to LinkedIn and share with hiring clinics.

Career accelerator · CIAS

Clinics on GELYPTIC MD need people who can run, audit and sign off ambient documentation. CIAS shows them you can do it to U.S. and European standards from day one.

Earned credentials get a public verification link and a one-click "Add to LinkedIn profile" button.

Certified International Ambient Scribe (CIAS)

What you will be able to do

  • Read and write clinical language fluently, including brand vs. generic drug names across FDA and EMA markets
  • Produce SOAP notes whose medical decision-making supports the correct CMS E/M level — without upcoding
  • Apply HIPAA/HITECH and GDPR/EHDS rules to what goes into, and stays out of, a clinical note
  • Audit an ambient AI draft for hallucination, omission and misattribution without changing clinical intent
  • Export clean records to Epic, Cerner (Oracle Health) and athenahealth workflows
  • Use your credential to win clinic clients through the GELYPTIC MD affiliate program

Modules & lessons

  • Medical linguistics that never fails you
30 min · Roots, prefixes and suffixes (cardi-, -itis, -ectomy, -ostomy), plus directional terms — proximal/distal, medial/lateral, anterior/posterior — drilled until you can decode any unfamiliar term.
  • Sound-alike traps
20 min · Ileum vs. ilium, hypo- vs. hyper-, dysphagia vs. dysphasia, perineal vs. peroneal — the errors that change a diagnosis and how ambient audio makes them worse.
  • Pharmacology across FDA and EMA
35 min · Generic (INN) vs. brand names, U.S. vs. European naming differences (acetaminophen/paracetamol, albuterol/salbutamol, epinephrine/adrenaline), dose, route and frequency, and why 'q.d.' and 'U' are on do-not-use lists.
  • Anatomy of a note: inpatient vs. outpatient
25 min · H&P, progress note (SOAP), discharge summary, consult and procedure notes — what each must contain and who reads it next.
  • Lab: GELYPTIC MD custom dictionary & macros
30 min · Add local drug brands and regional idioms to the vocabulary, and build a ScribeMacro that expands a common exam into consistent text you still verify.
Assessment: Timed terminology and drug-name drill (90% to pass) plus building one validated vocabulary macro.
